You stay in control. Spillway can use AI on your own Mac or a cloud provider that you choose and configure.

Spillway is designed around categories you control, multiple categories per message, focused views, and quick ways to confirm or correct suggested organization.
The goal is not to force your life into a fixed folder system. Categories can evolve while earlier decisions keep their meaning and provenance.

Privacy is part of the design
Spillway does not operate a server that receives and stores your Gmail content.
When you choose local AI, processing happens through the local service you configure. When you choose a cloud provider, selected content is sent directly to that provider under its terms.
Spillway does not sell Gmail data, use it for advertising, or train a general-purpose AI model with it.

Private beta
Spillway is still early software. Features may be incomplete or change, and testers should keep access to Gmail or another established email client.
Current availability and testing expectations are described separately so the rest of the site can focus on the product's intended design.
