Spillway is still in private beta, so its interface and branding will continue to change. This page explains several of the main product views prospective testers will see.

Category structure and membership

Spillway separates two different kinds of category work:

Manage Categories owns structure and lifecycle—move/reparent, rename, Retire, Delete, and Restore.
Review lives in the ordinary mail workspace, where a user can work through ranked category-membership evidence while reading the full message.

Review is designed to expose the boundary of a category, including weaker real evidence below the normal suggestion threshold, rather than only showing messages the AI already considered obvious.

The screenshot above is from an earlier layout; the current Review workspace is evolving quickly and the public media will be refreshed after the interaction design stabilizes.

Normal, Focus, and Review

Normal Mail, Focus, and Review are peer workspace modes. The semantic mode model is shared between Mac and iPhone, while each platform presents it differently: persistent workspace chrome on Mac and progressively disclosed phone-native controls on iPhone.

This split keeps the behavior consistent without forcing desktop layout assumptions onto a phone.

Work Ledger

The Work Ledger collects possible requests, commitments, follow-ups, and unresolved work identified in email. Users can review, complete, dismiss, or defer suggestions instead of having every detected item automatically become a task.

The broader Task/Work workspace remains an active development area beyond this first ledger surface.

Dates & Opportunities

This view surfaces possible deadlines, meetings, registrations, renewals, and other time-sensitive information. The emphasis is on reviewable candidates, not silent calendar automation.

AI settings

AI settings showing local and cloud processing choices

AI settings show where processing occurs and which provider is configured. Local AI can run through Ollama on the Mac; cloud providers can be enabled explicitly by the user.

Current status

These screenshots show work-in-progress beta builds. Labels, layout, and branding will continue to evolve. Public screenshots should remain anonymized and should not expose real correspondents, message subjects, body text, account identifiers, or private category names.
